Can You Use Commercial Washers and Dryers at Home in Charlotte NC?

industrial washer or commercial dryer in Charlotte, NC

Most people wouldn’t consider an industrial washer or commercial dryer in Charlotte NC, for home use but if you have a large family or find yourself doing never-ending loads of laundry, you may want to consider the investment. There are commercial units available that can work in a home. While you may not need one with the capacity needed for a large facility (as you will not be processing as much laundry as a healthcare center, gym, or hotel even though it may feel like it at times), commercial dryers at home have several benefits.

When purchasing commercial units for your home, you should consult with someone such as T & L Equipment, the experts when it comes to laundry needs, so they can help you find the right product that will work for your home.

So, yes you can use a commercial washer and dryer at home. Here are some advantages you may not have thought of that can make chores a little easier.

Industrial Washer and Commercial Dryer in Charlotte NC For Home Use

1. You can get more laundry done.
If you find yourself always running a load of laundry because you have a big family, or because your family tends to go through clothes and towels quickly, then having larger capacity units means you can wash more at once, cutting down on the number of loads you’re doing.  Did you know you can wash up to 80 pounds of clothing per load in a commercial washer? For a regular washing machine, a large load is about 6-8 pounds. That means you can wash 4-8 regular loads in one load with a commercial washer and dryer.

2. You may save on energy bills.
While it may seem like a larger unit is going to take more electricity and water, you’re doing fewer loads and getting everything knocked out in one or two loads rather than double or triple that amount. Since you’re doing fewer loads of laundry, you’re using less energy and less water.

3. You can wash those large items.
Sleeping bags, large comforters, and dog beds only need to be washed every once in a while and require a trip to the laundromat. If you have a commercial washer and dryer at home, you can have the convenience of washing large heavy items anytime you need it. It can come in handy when your kid has spilled soda all over the sleeping bag and is planning to go on a camping trip the next night.

4. Your clothing will be safer.
Most top-load machines use an agitator to wash clothes, but front loads don’t. That means clothes get washed more evenly, and there is less risk of something getting tangled up. How many times have you pulled out an item to find that a sock has gotten wrapped around it? There’s less of a chance of that happening with a front-load machine.

5. You can free up your time.
If you’re not spending all day chained to the washer and dryer, you will have more time for other things, like spending time with family or doing other chores around the house.

  1. I like that you said there is a possibility of lower energy bills because you are doing fewer loads and therefore using less water. My brother owns a restaurant and he wants to start cleaning the towels and aprons at the restaurant now. I'll recommend that he look into commercial size laundry machines so he can save money.
  2. I am interested in a commercial grade washer for home use. I do small loads as I am only one person and I do separate my whites, coloreds etc. Is there a front loading commercial grade washer that does smaller loads and what is the water consumption of a cycle for these types of washers
  3. What would the average cost be for a dexter washer and a dexter dryer commercial?
