Changing Vended Coin Laundry, continued

coin operated washers and dryers in South CarolinaWelcome back! We are here to talk more about changing vended coin laundry machines. If you missed our previous post, be sure to visit back. Today we talk about washers. Last post we talked more about dryers. For great prices on coin operated washers and dryers in South Carolina be sure to call T & L for great savings.

New equipment has the option to have dual coin drops installed. This means the machine  would be a quarter coin drop, as is common, and then, add a dollar coin drop, as well. This allows the customer to insert fewer coins to start a machine which is a bigger deal on bigger machines. Think about putting 40 quarters into an 80 or 100-pound capacity washer to get it started. Saving time for our laundromat users is essential. However, it takes a long time to vend larger machines. With the use of dollar coins, coin boxes on the machines fill up slower because there are fewer coins. This will allow for less frequent collections. This is useful if the operator has to go out of town and a full coin box on a big machine means it's out of order.

Taken a step further, some laundries are moving to dollar only vending where quarters are not used at all. This makes collections easier because there are fewer coins, and vending is easier for the customer for the same reasons. The thing to consider is that there will be no quarter increment price changes if all you have are dollar coin slots on your machines. You have to increase your prices by a whole dollar at a time.

This is all something to think about as a laundromat owner. If you're considering purchasing new machines and aren't sure what type, contact T & L. We can help you from the beginning stages of consideration, planning and purchasing. We also offer great repair services, installation and more.
