If clothing has been left in the washing machine - dry and fold the clothes. Chances are that their owner will come looking for them and will gladly pay a small fee to have them returned. Eleven percent of people have left behind their keys or phone and 13 percent of people have left behind their wallets. While it is easy to replace a phone charger or laptop cable, cell phones and wallets are much more difficult and expensive to replace. Extra care should be taken of these items. Keep the cell phone charged so that if the owner calls the phone you can let them know where it is located. Make sure employees know to involve management or the authorities when a wallet is left behind. Identity theft is on the rise so make sure this sensitive item is handled appropriately. Make attempts to contact the owners of these items as soon as they are found on your property.
