The winners of Speed Queen's third annual Art of the Journey contest were recently announced. Laundromat owners who have recently financed replacement equipment through Speed Queen Financial Services were eligible to enter to win up to $100,000 to repay their loan.
Bob and Donna Wallner have been named the 2016 winners of the Art of Journey contest. The brother and sister duo are multi-store owners and have partnered with Speed Queen Financial Services for more than ten years.

The contest is open to owners who provided exceptional customer service and recently reinvested in their laundromat. Store owners had to meet certain criteria, which consisted of the following:
Finance at least $2,500 in new Speed Queen equipment through SQFS.
Submit an original piece of art that represented their individual journey as a laundromat owner. The artwork needed to highlight the following:
- what they did before becoming a laundromat owner
- why they chose to invest in the laundry business
- how they have reinvested in their business
- the role their business has in the community
- ways their business has grown
Acceptable formats include video, poem, drawing, painting, or photo collage/montage.
Just for submitting qualifying artwork, all entrants received a $100 Speed Queen gift certificate.
The grand prize winners for 2015 were Tyesha and Emmanuel Offiong of New Jersey. Originally, when the Offiong's purchased their laundromat, the store was desperately in need of repairs. Their first order of business was to replace the existing and aged laundry equipment. Excited by the possibility of winning $100,000, the Offiong's entered and subsequently won! This husband and wife team plan to expand their business sooner than they anticipated with their prize money.
