Laundry is something most of us hate to do. Some might enjoy it, but for the most part, it's not considered a favorite past time. One of the reasons is because we are always making mistakes, washing pens, ruining shirts and more. That's why our tips will come in handy! Be sure to follow them for a mistake-free experience next time you wash and dry your garments.
Washing pants without checking pockets. Another big mistake we tend to make is not emptying the pockets before we wash and dry. Whether it's a pen, cell phone or important paper, it goes right in the wash. Be sure to double check all pockets. It could save you a lot of money.
Too much detergent. It will be hard, but try not to use too much detergent. Be sure to read the label on the detergent before using. Stick to exactly what it tells you to do. Using too much detergent will wear your washing machine out. It will also leave your clothes covered with suds after the cycle is complete.
Washing denim excessively. Did you know that laundering denim too often can cause them to lose their color and texture? To make sure this doesn't happen, wear your jeans as often as possible before washing them. Some recommend only washing them every six months. But, if they get dirty, collect odors, or have been worn frequently, consider washing them sooner. You can spot clean minor stains without any problems. You can also hang them outside to get rid of minor odors. Refraining from washing jeans so often will keep them looking newer longer.
